Gore Galore – Worst shareware game ever.

Finding its way into the real world via shareware BBS CDs, Gore Galore was neither gory nor was it any good. Touting itself as a splatterfest, it mainly came off as a low-rent Wolfenstein clone. Oh, and it had a poo gun too.

You’re right. I heard about this when I was running my BBS way back when. I heard a few people talking about it, then my friend told me that it was nothing but a Wolf clone…but I refused to believe him.

I played this on my old 486/66…and I remember the hard drive churning whenever I would choose an option on the main menu. That was the first sign of hos this thing was. I played it for 30 mins and put it down until I reviewed it three years ago :P .

I remember having this game on a compilation games disc. This was one of the games that I could never manage to play on my computer (some incompatibility issue). This frustrated me a lot, because I remember back in the day being told how epic this game was. After seeing it on here for the first time, by the looks of it, i didnt miss out on much. A Wolfenstein 3D rip-off was the first thing that came to mind. It looks as bad as Ken’s Labyrinth.

    Oh yeah! Nightmare …
Oh yeah! Nightmare 3D was pretty cool actually. It was definitely one of the better 3DO games I’ve come across. Definitely better than PO’ed or Iron Angel of the Apocalypse. Did you play Immercenary? I thought that game was complete garbage, but peeps seem to love it for some reason. Wow, now I’m rambling.

Yeah, I remember seeing this when I ran a BBS back in the day thinking “Gore! This is gonna be awesome!” but yeah…you know how that turned out :) .

This is a video from an old article when I first started the site. I only did text reviews and example movie clips with no commentary back then. I thought this would be pretty coo to put up regardless.

Feel free to read the article about it for more insight. There’s another vid where I walk up to a guy and unload a clip into him with no damage.
