Since it’s been 3 years since I joined YouTube today, I uploaded another video of Shadow Warrior, a first-person shooter done by 3D Realms in 1997. It uses Ken Silverman’s Build engine. In this game, you take the role of Lo Wang, a master ninja assassin. There were three expansion packs in development, but they were dropped because of disappointing sales compared to Duke Nukem 3D. The unreleased “Wanton Destruction” expansion pack has been published for free in 2005.
As the title suggests, this is a video about the history of Ken Silverman’s Build Engine. It’s the game engine that was used in first-person shooters like Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior and Redneck Rampage.
